India is a totalitarian regime. I have felt its Orwellian nature since the last three years, starting first when I discovered philosophy, ethics and logic.
But I live in India. India is a beautiful country. India is full of great culture, great tradition, great ideas and great people. But some… some want to degrade the nation into something grotesque and disgusting.
Some people want to use it to gain power and money.
Some people wants the population to believe what’s false.
Some people want to control everything.
A lot of people support this. A lot of people support injustice.
What else would they do in a country where man is claimed to be God? Where religion is used to turn people against one another and get votes? Where brutes become kings and philosophers are declared anti-nationals?
That being said, it’s really hard for anyone here to stand up for a cause and not have your dignity and efforts thrown away like a ragdoll. Yet recently, India found itself amidst one of the most magnificient protests ever done in its history, and this time, things actually changed.
All because a generation decided that it was enough.
A generation stood up.
A generation subverted the current political system.
A generation wants to restore the nation’s glory.
It healed a wound that remained open for three years. It is fascinating; I had thought that the country’s future would be grim and unthinkable after everything that has happened in the last three years, but now I feel hope.
I feel hope living in a totalitarian regime because I know that it’s not forever.
All things die. This totalitarian regime will die too.
And then, India should be back on track.
Back on track to being the country that doesn’t disappoint but makes you feel even more proud be its citizen.
It has already begun. Now, let us watch the walls crumble down.
Bharat Mata ki Jai!
